The Kingdom of Lesotho is a small country entirely surrounded by South Africa. It is made up primarily of highlands where hard to reach villages are mostly only accessed on horseback. Lesotho also has one of the world's highest rates of HIV-Aids infection. Providing support and awareness to people living with or at risk of HIV-Aids infections from marginalised and socially excluded groups in Lesotho is a lifeline to these vulnerable people in a country where the UN describes 40% of the population as “ultra-poor”.
